The course and club have been very quiet this week as we are still suffering from the very wet conditions. However there were some positive comments on Sunday from the golfers who did venture out who said the course was starting to get a little bit dryer. We were back on most of the greens on Sunday so hopefully we are moving in the right direction.
Unfortunately the practice ground is still closed due to the balls plugging.
Having said that the place has been very quiet, we do have some remarkable news to report.
Last week, we reported that Peter Fox-Andrews had a hole in one on the 15th. Well on Thursday this week he teed up on the 15th with the same club and the same ball, and hit the ball straight into the hole for another hole in one.
We are working out the odds of this happening, and we will let you know, but that is fantastic from Peter.
The Seniors will try and play one of their postponed 14 hole stableford's this week on Wednesday (the 27th) having postponed the last two due to course conditions.
On Saturday we have our latest pro comp. As we said last week, the order of merit for the overall prize is getting very interesting with quite a few people in the running.
Watch this space for further updates.
We are currently looking at attracting some more junior and lady golfers to the club.
If you have a friend or relative in either category that might like to try golf for the first time, or maybe they used to play but now fancy starting again, please get in touch with us in the pro shop.
We are going to run a taster session for them to give golf a try at no cost to them and hopefully get them into golf.
Click here to get in touch if you or anyone you know may be interested in getting into golf.
We still have some great deals in store at the moment.
We have a Motocaddy S1 lithium trolley at £449, but if you buy now we will give you a Motocaddy Pro bag worth £149 FREE of charge.
Click here to find out more about our Motocaddy Trolley range.
We also have some Callaway and PING hardware on clearance, call in for availability. And we still have about half a dozen PING putters all at half price.
As some of you will already know, Tom has decided to move on from Stanton. Tom was with us for five years and gained all his PGA qualifications while he was with us. We wish him well in his new career and thank him for his work while with us.
If anyone knows of anyone looking for some hours working in the pro shop over the coming months please get in touch with Nick.
