Hello golfers,

 

Well although the golfing season is well under way we would all agree the weather does not help!

However despite the poor weather that we have been getting, the scores in the competitions are hotting up starting with Adams Randall's superb 41pts in the Stableford Cup. 

Emma Howie showed the mixed field how it's done by winning the 18 hole Mixed Stableford with 38pts. Tony Ellison won the 9 hole comp with 18pts. 

Saturday saw the April Medal and the Cripps Cup Qualifier with the winner of the 1st division being Martin Tweedie with a very good score of Nett 66. The 2nd division winner was Douglas Tragheim with Nett 69 & the 3rd Division was won by Craig Watson with Nett 70. 

Below are the 15 players that qualified to take on the holder Alan Cairns in the Cripps Cup knock out competition. 

Daniel Hewitt, Steven Phillips, Stephen Daniels, Martin Tweedie, David Machin, Gavin Brand, Paul Jacklin, Shaun Bullin, Ian Harbey, Sam Horsley, Ashley Spencer, Simon Dean, Stephen Thomas, Bobby Sourbuts & Carl Kozimor. Well done all that qualified the draw is now up in the spike bar.

Ladies Burlinson Trophy and EG Medal

Overall Winner:        Sue Giles           - 111 - 36 = 75
Division 1 Winner:    Gill Eaton          - 91 - 16 = 75
Division 2 Winner:    Sandra Bradley - 102 - 21 = 80
Division 3 Winner:    Paddy Hawtin    - 116 - 33 = 83

The overall winners were: : Di Hardwick, Vera Davis, Trish Annesley - 72 points 

Club Matches

The Seniors Lost to Scraptoft last Friday 6 ½ - 1 ½ but bounced back with a win against Radcliffe on Trent 6 -2 on Monday. 

The Gents combined team lost to Rothley Park on Saturday, The mixed also lost, but to Glen Gorse on Sunday 6 - 2. 

The Scratch Team started the season with a good win over College Pines 3 -2 in some extreme weather conditions well done.

 

The Ladies get into golf has proved a great success with all 3 dates and times fully booked likewise with the junior coaching. 

We are providing 18+ Handicap group coaching starting on the dates below: 

17th May 10am - 11am 
7th June 10am - 11am 
5th July 10am - 11am 
2nd August 10am - 11am

On Wednesday 25th May 1pm to 4pm we have a Srixon ball fitting day please call the pro shop to book an appointment to find the best ball to suit your game to help lower your scores!
