Captains Day

Nigel and Jaquie both enjoyed great days for their respective Captains days last week. The weather was pretty good for most of the day on both days although we did get some rain, but not enough to spoil it. 

The ladies had a full clubhouse for their presentation on Tuesday evening, were the winning team was Sarah Hernon, Sue Giles and Andrea Gill. On Saturday evening Nigel and Jaquie laid on an 80's theme night which was attended by just under 100 people, everyone had a good time and enjoyed a terrific buffet and eighties music. 

The mens results were: overall winners John and Lewis Kingsley with a score of 12. Div1 winners John Land and Malc Baggley on 14, 2nd John Gibson and Stan Dziuba on 16 and 3rd were Terry Lindley and Pete Hartley on 16. Div2 winners were Don Sharpe and Barry Whittingham with 14, 2nd Keith Horsley and Robert Rathbone with 15 and 3rd place Steve Phillips and Tim Cains also on 15. 

In the ladies 9 hole stableford 1st place with an incredible 22 points was Sarah Hernon followed in 2nd by Jaquie Hathway with 17 points and in 3rd place Kath Oscroft also with 17 points.

Senior Team

Good result for the seniors this week a 3 -3 draw away at Wollaton Park. Well done all that played.


 

Demo Days

We have a couple more demo days coming up over the next week or so, beginning this Thursday. 

Mizuno - Thursday 7th July 11-3pm 
Yonex - Wednesday 13th July 1-4pm

Stanton's Best Putter Competition

It's that time of year again were we find out who is Stanton's best putter! This is a qualifying competition running from July 9th on to July 16th, the top 15 scores and the 2015 winner will qualify for the grand final which will be contested on some of Stanton's main greens. 

Score cards can be purchased from the pro shop during opening hours, Completed cards must then be signed, counter-signed by another competitor then returned back into the shop. Entry fee is £1.00 of which you are entitled to one round a day up to the closing date. Good luck and may the best putter win!

The US champion is now number two in the world and looks to be finally fulfilling his potential after another fine win at the weekend - and a big one too at the WGC Bridgestone Invitational. For years Johnson seemed destined to be the bridesmaid, now he's one of the favourites to go back-to-back in Majors and take the Claret Jug back across the Atlantic.
