It was a fantastic weekend up at the club, the course is looking great and the weather has been even better. The invitation was played on Saturday, and hopefully all the guests were impressed with the course. Jeff Carr and his guest were the overall winners with 42 points, Paul Noble finished 2nd on countback from Simon Dean, both scored 41, and Brian Viggers claimed 4th also on countback with 40 points, well done guys.

Coronation Cup - Margaret Ferguson 93 20 73 after countback from Ellen Manton 107 34 73
Group winners:

The Barton Trophy
This week the ladies played the Barton Trophy and Sue Manley won using her brand new Callaway X2 Hot driver which we fitted her for on our launch monitor last week with an unbelievable score of 41 points. Well played Sue, and hard luck to Cathy Burnside who also shot a great score of 38 points, which would normally win, to finish runner up.
Well done to all the winners.
Both Henry and Tom were golfing last week, Tom played at Mapperly on Thursday and finished in the money with 35 points, this was the last alliance fixture of the year, so a big thanks to all the members that supported it and hopefully you will do the same next year.
Henry played in another Eagle tour event at Belton Park which is a great course just outside of Grantham, and definitely worth a visit if you havent been, he shot 72 which finished him mid table. Well done to both of them.
Looking ahead, we have the Aston on Trent golf society here on Friday from 1.30 until 2.15, the Monthly Medal is on Saturday and The Champions League final will be on in the Clubhouse in the evening.
Sunday is a busy day with the Juniors having a match against Newark in the morning, then the Sleaford match is on in the afternoon.
We'll be having another Texas Scramble on Bank Holiday Monday which was extremely popular last time which will be followed by a meal in the evening. There are still plenty of tables left for the evening meal so if you would like a table please contact the restaurant.
On Wednesday 28th, there is a large soicety taking the first tee from 12.15 until 2.15, and similarly on Thursday with the tee being shut from 12.30 until 2.30, so bare this in mind if you're planning a game.
