This weekend we have had the Am/Am competition which has a new format this year, a four ball best two scores from four people with three to count on holes 9 and 18. The entry sheet wasn't completely full but was well supported and we definitely had less problems with fixing people up like we did in previous years.
Mark Oldham, Matt Goulding, David Pepper and John Starling were the winners with a team score of 90 points which was 1 from Albert Oldham, Bob Currie, Dan Branson and Shaun Bullin.
Seniors results away at Kibworth - 1.5 - 6.5 defeat then home to Newark a 4.5 - 3.5 victory.
The Ladies August stableford results were:
Division 1 - Karen Raynor - 37
Division 2 - Sandra Bradley - 31
Division 3 - Barbara Tuckwell - 32
The charity open went very well with a full field of 96 players enjoying the course with a great winning score from two Copt Heath members. We managed to raise well over £2000 for the Captains charity guide dogs for the blind. There was a very moving speech from a gentleman who has his own guide dog explaining just how highly trained and inteligent these dogs are, he also told us the cost of training each dog works out at over £50,000 so the more money we can raise the better.
Tom was away golfing on Sunday at Rutland County in the Leicestershire pro's and amatuers strokeplay event. He played well but found scoring difficult in a very strong wind.
Don't forget we now have the new PING G30 range in store for you to try with the patented turbulater on the woods, this means we do have limited G25 stock to clear at a knock down price.

Also we have a set of Mizuno JPX irons second hand so if you fancy a top of the range set of irons at a knock down price, call in and give them a demo.
