Saturday saw another pro comp take place, this was the first trial of Singles Stableford we have done, so how did those who played feel it went? There were some great scores on a very wet course with 3 scores of 41 points handed in.

Well done to all winners, the next pro comp is 29/11/14 this will be back to a betterball stableford.
Notts Alliance
The Alliance was played last Wednesday at Oakmere Park, Henry had a good round of 38 points which saw him pick some money up, and Tom had a steady score of 34 points. Unfortunately Roy Fletcher the organiser passed away a few hours after the competition so our thought are with his family.
Night golf
We need to make an apology to John Gibson as we were given the wrong information about who won last week. It was John who won the comp, it looks like John plays his best golf on Friday evenings as he is a major force in the fun comps winning the last 3 of them!
Christmas draw tickets are now available, there are some great prizes and many desirable golfing items to be won.
Squares are £3 each or 4 for £10. It could be your lucky year!
The weather has really made a turn for the worst over the last week we have had a lot a rain which makes golf less pleasent than it should be! Take advantage of our great prices on waterproof suits, stay dry with no restrictions all year round. We have suits from Oscar Jacobson, Sunderland and Kartel all at very competitive prices!

We know some of you struggle to get your golf in when winter rolls around but if you need your fix, head to the range with these helpful tips.
Firstly, try to focus.
Hitting balls aimlessly is a common mistake that can cause more harm than good. Instead, pick small targets on the range that replicate the kind of shot you'll face on the course.
Secondly, use clubs you're not so confident with.
How much better will you feel out on the course with your 4-iron if you've spent time hitting shots with it on the range?
Finally, make notes.
Today it's all about iPads and Apps, but a pen and paper will do. Not enough people take the time to record their performances and identify areas they can work on. It's good for the confidence and gives a real sense of purpose to your range time.
