Happy new year to everyone, here's to a great golfing 2016.


 

Saturday saw the 5th Pros Comp of the season and the first of the New Year. The whole field played in wet, challenging conditions, however the scores didn't reflect this with all bar one team playing shooting better than par. 

Division 1 winners were J Varney & P Gauntley with a score of 45pts, and Division 2 winners were A Evans & D Ironmonger with also 45pts. 

Due to the excellent play there were plenty of twos which has reduced this week's pay out to just £5 per two. 

The leader of the Order of Merit is still Phil Norris with a current total of 210, but there are changes to 2nd and 3rd places. 2nd is now Brian Viggers on 201 and 3rd is Steven Philips on 200. 

The next pro's comp is on the 16th of January, can anyone knock Phil of the top?

The course has been holding up over the past few months, however due to the very wet holiday period the course is starting to struggle. So there now is a ban on all trolley's and it's carry only.

Also mats are now compulsory on the fairways, if you don't already have a mat these can be purchased from the pro shop at £5.00.
