Hello from a very wet Stanton on the Wolds,
The course conditions are such that we are having a carry only policy at the moment, very unusual for Stanton, so hopefully we will have a dry spell and get back to normal very soon. Please check the website each day for the latest conditions.
Hopefully we will have better conditions for the pro comp on Saturday, the order of merit is getting very tight at the top so keep an eye on the positions.
One rule change that could affect one or two of you is the long putter rule. You can still use these putters but you are not allowed to anchor the putter against your torso. Please come and have a chat with a member of the pro shop team if you have any questions about the new rules.
There is no excuse for not sharpening your game up for the new season as the range balls are now FREE for members, so book yourself a lesson then practice what you have learnt out on the practice ground without having to pick your balls up.
If you are interested in booking a lesson, click here to get in touch, or come and see us in the pro shop.
As the weather is so grim, it might be time to renew your waterproofs. We currently have in stock the ProQuip Pro-Flex suit based on the victorious European Ryder cup team of 2014's waterproofs. These come in both ladies and gents sizes and colours.
We also have the Oscar Jacobson tour suit. Both suits are fully breathable and have a three and five year waterproof warranty.
We do also have a few Kartel waterproof suits which we are clearing at just £49.99 a suit.
Come and pay us a visit in the pro shop and try them out for yourself.
Despite the awful weather, January is one of our favourite times of the year. Let us explain. Firstly, we get to see some exciting new product which, in the main, arrives in store in February. Who doesn't get a buzz when they see shiny new irons? More on this in the coming weeks, as Foremost TV travels to the PGA Show to get the lowdown on all the new product releases.
Secondly, it's when we can wipe the slate clean, not just us but you too. If you had a wretched time of things last year, then now's the time to put things right. Take Jordan Spieth for example, who struggled last year in winning just two Majors. He dusted himself down over Christmas and won in Hawaii at the weekend by posting a -30 total!
Joking aside, now's a really good time to come and see us and work on your game. Plenty of golfers are enjoying lessons bought for them for Christmas, a gift which keeps on giving. Don't wait until the clocks change, come and see us and let's set some targets for 2016 and help you to enjoy your best ever season. Who knows, you might just look back at the end of the year and say that January was when it all really clicked.
