A good start to the year
January hasn’t been a bad start for golf in 2020, a much better start to the year with the weather has meant that the golf course is starting to slow recover and improve. Only four winter greens were in operation this Saturday, which is a step in the right direction. Dan and his staff have been working hard throughout winter, adding extra drainage to the 3rd and 5th green and the 9th fairway. In years to come, the golf course will be better prepared if we have this amount of rainfall again thanks to their efforts. Use of the winter mats in the fairway are encouraged

One for the diary
We have a Honma fitting day to put in your diary, Thursday, 5 March.
Honma is one of the world’s leading brands, which is designed and created in Japan. Justin Rose is now playing with Honma, and Honma is commonly considered to be one of the highest quality brands. Fun fact for you, they are the only company in golf that manages everything internally, so all there testing, designing and all the other bits are done in-house.

Anything that makes golf that little bit easier is a good thing in our eyes and if improving your iron play is up there on your to-do list then you’re in luck, as we have a treat or two we want to share with you. |
Mizuno’s JPX919 Hot Metal & MP-20 HMB irons are certainly worth trying out this year as they offer us all we need to make a big difference to our game. Both sets have been designed to help you get the ball up in the air with ease with the MP-20 HMB offering more of a performance hybrid replacement option whilst the JPX919 Hot Metal boasts an incredibly large sweet spot for forgiveness. If you are looking for more consistency and control in 2020 it is well worth coming down and giving both these irons a go at your local pro shop.
