Who came out on top?
Saturday was the winter pro’s competition, in wet and very windy conditions, there were some very good scores returned. S Goddard and T Lee won division 1 with an impressive 48 points, while D Waddington and R Hall won the 2nd division with 47 points, winning on countback. Well done! This week there were only 3 twos, paying out an impressive £17.50. This seems to be a good time of year to make a two. Following a meeting of the handicap and competitions committee at the golf club this week, as of Saturday 2 February, there will be a pros’ competition every Saturday during the winter months. A great chance to play competitive golf each week, if you would like to play after the timesheet, just roll up and collect a card and enter on the day. Sign up is now online for next Saturday.

Get prepared for the new season...
With January out of the way we can now start to focus and look forward to the competition season, and it looks like the weather is slowly starting to improve. Is this the year you cut your handicap by 3 shots, start cutting out the 3 putts or stop the killer hook off the tee? If you would like any help achieving your goals, Nick and Seb are available for coaching during the week and weekends. Contact the pro shop for more information, or get in contact by clicking here.

One for the diary
We have a Honma fitting day to put in your diary, Thursday, 5 March.
Honma is one of the world’s leading brands, which is designed and created in Japan. Justin Rose is now playing with Honma, and Honma is commonly considered to be one of the highest quality brands. Fun fact for you, they are the only company in golf that manages everything internally, so all there testing, designing and all the other bits are done in-house.

Did you know we price match competitors? There's often a perception that small, local businesses are more expensive than your high street or online shops, which couldn't be further from the truth in our case. Not only do we offer you a fantastic and professional service, but we also offer a Price Match Promise against our main competitors. So, if you see a product cheaper elsewhere, pop by the shop and have a chat with a member of the team. |

Already this year we've seen the release of new drivers and irons (nothing unusual in that), but now we have something else to show you and we're excited to say they'll be arriving with us soon! |
| Srixon Q-Star Tour golf balls
|
|
Many of you will be big fans of the AD333 ball from Srixon, which has been a mainstay in its range since 2003 - albeit, being improved upon every couple of years.
|
Well, sitting alongside it for 2020 is the Q-Star Tour, which delivers tour-level spin and distance but in a remarkably soft cover - whilst being at a brilliant price point too! |
