Competition news

Captain's days 

Last Saturday, Captain Ian had his Captain's day which was a brilliant day enjoyed by all, with the rain just managing to keep off. 

The results from the Captain's day were as follows:

Mens Captains Day - 29/08

1st - D Thomas / N Coleman - 48 Points 

2nd - B Kevan / D Toon - 47 Points 

3rd - S Johns / B Featherstone - 46 Points 

4th - S Merrell / M Mcnulty - 45 Points 

5th - A Penn / C Rodgers - 45 Points 


Louise also had her Lady Captain's day Tuesday which of course had a great turn out and everyone involved had a brilliant day all in aid of raising money for Maggies. The weather was sunny and Louise has said the team efforts made the day so thank you!

The results from the Lady Captain's day were as follows:

Ladies Captains Day - 18 Hole AM-AM - 01/09

1st - V Orr / S Hernon / G Branson / G Branson - 87 Points 

2nd - S Matthews / Z Scott / S Evans / M Frake - 85 Points 

3rd - J Harby / J Burgin / M Underwood / J Rudolph - 82 Points 


Well over £2000 has been raised for the fantastic Captain's charity chosen by Ian and Louise this year, Maggies Cancer Charity. So big thanks to all of those involved. 

The next fundraising event will be the Captains' Challenge on the 2nd and 3rd September playing 54 holes of golf in 24 hours over 3 parkland courses and of course all donations will be going straight to Maggies charity.

Wollaton Park, Rufford Park and Oakmere Park will be the venues. We wish them the best of luck! 

Coronation Cup

This coming Saturday we have the Coronation Cup, our biggest competition of the year, so the course will be in the best condition it can be and no doubt it will be immaculate - however, so the course can be in peak condition, it means that on Friday 4th the last tee time available will be 1pm to give a chance for the greenkeepers to do all the work needed with an empty course.

Coaching news

Busy as ever

Nick and I are as busy as ever but still have room for some more in our diaries, don't hesitate to give your game a drive, chip, or pitch in the right direction to allow you to play the best golf you can!

£25 is a small price to pay for the shots you can save on the course, so why not take control of your game!

We have also had some fantastic turnouts from the juniors in August, starting the month with 8 and now 25 juniors ongoing, I am extremely pleased to see so many youngsters trying their hand at the sport and getting better and better at it.

I still have room for more as I divide the sessions into two age groups, 5 - 9 years old 1.30-2.30 on Sundays and ages 10 and above 2.30-3.30 on Sundays.

The cost of the session is £7.50 and we do a range of chipping, putting and driving range activities.

10 years in the making
