Captain's Away Day

Wednesday was the Captain's Away Day, and the venue of choice this year was Church Brampton Golf Club in Northamptonshire. For any of you that don't know, this is a top quality course and is well worth a game if you get the opportunity. 32 went on the trip and they thoroughly enjoyed it, the course was excellent and we were really well looked after. The course played hard, and Anthony Clements won with 38 points. 

Monthly Medal

Thursday saw the Monthly Medal and Medal Finals played. Richard McLoughin won division 1 with a nett 68. 

Division 2 was won by Carl Pantling with a nett 71. 69 was the best score in division 3 and this was by Craig Watson.

Winners - Cathy Burnside & Pat Hopkins - 89 (17) 72 
2nd - Sandra Bradley & Jane Gilmore - 97 (22) 75.

Club Championships

Saturday was the Club Championship, this event is played as 36 holes stroke play off scratch. There was a good entry for this with the clubs elite playing and then Simon Raine. 

Scott Hamilton came out on top with a 71 and 74 for a total score of 145, 1 under par. Isaac Walker came 2nd with 74 and 72 for 146, level par. Third place went to Anthony Collings with 73 and 76, 149. 

The extra medal was played on the same day as well, and 6 players were tied on the same score of 71 but John Shelton edged the others out on count back. 



Next Saturday is the Greenstaff competition, the start sheet is filling up fast it would be great to show some support and completely fill the sheet! 

Don't forget to enter the Stanton best putter comp this week, you have until Friday to get your scores in.
