The Boot Cup
This Saturday the Boot cup was played, this was a very humid day so if you weren't playing well it made getting round hard work. Pete Rudd won with a superb score of 7 up. John Britten came 2nd with 5up alongside Mark Wells also on 5up. Unfortunately the entry was down, this might have something to do with holidays.
The Millenium Trophy
Well done to Paul Fletcher and Georgia Viggers who won the Millennium trophy with 42 points on Sunday just beating the Hooley's, Jeff and Jan on a card play off.
Ladies results
Bogey Cup - Tuesday, 11 August
Winner - Judy Burgin 3 up (Back 9 - 3 up)
Runner Up - Cathy Burnside 3 up (Back 9 - All Square)
Also well done to the Silver and Bronze ladies teams for winning their respective leagues this year.
Cross Country Comp
Friday is the annual cross country competition, please make sure the course is clear by 3pm. This means you must have finished your round by this time. For those who don't know what this format is, it's where you play the course in a completely different way to normal. For example you could be teeing off the 6th tee to the 10th green. Therefore there will be balls flying everywhere. There are still some spaces available so if you like the sound of this get involved.
Best Putter Final
The Stanton best putter final is taking place on the evening of the 21st, the same night as the 175 club so you can enjoy watching this event then pick your winnings up afterwards.

Rory McIlroy
Towards the end of this week is the last major championship of the year at Whistling Straits, Wisconsin. The World No.1, who has been out of action with an ankle injury, is set to return to action alongside Open winner Zach Johnson and two-time major champion Jordan Spieth.
McIlroy missed the Scottish Open, the Open and WGC-Bridgestone Invitational after rupturing ligaments in his left ankle while playing football with friends last month. Rory has been on the road to recovery to try and make the last major of the year. Click here to find out how he's prepared.
